- Do you mean it can't be walked at all in any length of time (on an island,
- etc)? Or just that it could not be walked in the subjective time you
- experienced? A truly impossible walk would make a strong difference here.
-
- Correlated experiences I have had or heard of:
-
- 1) Reality shifts - objects appear and disappear, including people's memory
- of them. Infrequently you will get another observer to agree on the thing
- which "changed", but most often it looks like faulty memory.
-
- 2) Time dilation - a couple of friends of mine who are very steady drivers,
- covered a 1 hour highway drive in half an hour. Their car can't even DO 120
- mph, and they noticed NOTHING unusual about the way the other cars were
- moving. Their watches weren't a half hour out from everyone else's, no
- obvious signs, just that somehow they got from one place to the other twice
- as fast.

-
- There are also "normal" tricks of human cognition that can throw you off,
- and also a mild case of schizophrenia will cause memories to be different.
- One of the symptoms of "minor" schizophrenia is an inability to concentrate
- or keep thoughts linked together. This *could* muck with your time sense.
- Also, memory is affected, and so "forgetting" part of your walk would result
- in a similar feeling of time not having passed.
-
- Remember, people under (some) anaesthetic don't experience a passage of
- time. They wake up wondering when the operation is going to start, etc.
-
- I can't rule out "mundane" explanations for what happened, but I hope I've
- offered some interesting thoughts on other explanations.
