  33. Do you mean it can't be walked at all in any length of time (on an island, 
  34. etc)? Or just that it could not be walked in the subjective time you 
  35. experienced? A truly impossible walk would make a strong difference here.

  37. Correlated experiences I have had or heard of:

  39. 1) Reality shifts - objects appear and disappear, including people's memory 
  40. of them. Infrequently you will get another observer to agree on the thing 
  41. which "changed", but most often it looks like faulty memory.

  43. 2) Time dilation - a couple of friends of mine who are very steady drivers, 
  44. covered a 1 hour highway drive in half an hour. Their car can't even DO 120 
  45. mph, and they noticed NOTHING unusual about the way the other cars were 
  46. moving. Their watches weren't a half hour out from everyone else's, no 
  47. obvious signs, just that somehow they got from one place to the other twice 
  48. as fast.

  53. There are also "normal" tricks of human cognition that can throw you off, 
  54. and also a mild case of schizophrenia will cause memories to be different.
  55. One of the symptoms of "minor" schizophrenia is an inability to concentrate 
  56. or keep thoughts linked together. This *could* muck with your time sense.
  57. Also, memory is affected, and so "forgetting" part of your walk would result 
  58. in a similar feeling of time not having passed.

  60. Remember, people under (some) anaesthetic don't experience a passage of 
  61. time. They wake up wondering when the operation is going to start, etc.

  63. I can't rule out "mundane" explanations for what happened, but I hope I've 
  64. offered some interesting thoughts on other explanations.
